Bach to Mendelssohn

April 19 @ 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm

$21 – $45

Our Season Finale concert and pre-concert Easter Egg Hunt with prizes and gift cards foROm 30+ businesses in our area! We tend to mistakenly think that during his lifetime J.S. Bach was considered a rock star.  But it wasn’t until a young Felix Mendelssohn conducted the works of Johann Sebastian Bach that he attained the world-wide fame that has lasted to this day. In our season finale, Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, features our own concertmaster, Chun-Chien Chuang and 1st violinist Andrew Holmes.  One of the works that survives in Bach’s own handwriting, it will charm you with its virtuosic musical textures, playful interaction between the instruments, and graceful melodies. The concert concludes with an atmospheric ode to Mendelssohn’s travels in Scotland. – his third symphony dubbed “The Scottish”. Join us as we close another wonderful season of magical music on (and at) the Missouri! Half Price Student and Children tickets with the promo code STUDENT/CHILD.
